Harvest Noir combines an elegant "dress your best in black" harvest celebration with a secret picnic in a public place in the heart of downtown Ottawa, a pop-up parade, and a DJ dance party at one of Ottawa's finest cultural venues.
The media called it "A SMASH SUCCESS" (Local Tourist Ottawa), "A DEFINING MOMENT IN THE CITY'S SOCIAL SCENE" and a "GAME-CHANGER" (Ottawa Citizen) last year as 760 guests dressed all in black threw the first "chic picnic" in Ottawa's history at the Museum of Civilization.
Guests said "IT WAS LIKE STEPPING INTO ALICE IN WONDERLAND".
You'll want to bring your friends - all of them. This year, the event promises to be bigger, bolder, and more downtown!
THE PICNIC. At noon on September 30 2012, those who've managed to get on the guest list will finally learn the HARVEST NOIR secret destination in Ottawa's core. Arriving by bicycle, transit, and car-pool, the elegantly-dressed dinner guests bring picnic baskets stuffed with delicious local food they've prepared and celebrate the harvest with friends old and new. Guests will enjoy the dining experience of the year, accompanied by bottles of wine, refined live music, prizes and surprises, and quirky performers.
THE PARADE. Starting with 1000+ fiery sparklers, and lead by a funky parade band, the guests will depart the picnic grounds and march in a fantastic Mad Hatter Parade through downtown Ottawa, leaving surprised tourists and jealous passers-by in their wake.
THE PARTY. This year's DJ dance party will take place in one of the most important cultural venues in Ottawa, and have more music/dancing choices for guests of all ages with two or more dancefloors.
